Following her appearance here two years ago, the Smetana Hall will be welcoming back the amazing Canadian soprano Sharon Azrieli, who will be bringing along several outstanding soloists for the occasion. Together they will perform works awarded by the Azrieli Music Prizes , a program of the Azrieli Foundation.

We can also look forward to checking out Avner Dorman’s triumphant second violin concerto. The virtuoso composition features solo voice and rich orchestral colour. Canadian violinist Lara St. John has performed as a soloist with prestigious international orchestras such as the Cleveland Symphony Orchestra and the Philadelphia Symphony Orchestra.

The second half of the programme will include the Adagio from Gustav Mahler’s Symphony No. 10 and Kelly-Marie Murphy’s double concerto for harp and cello, En el escuro es todo uno, featuring the celebrated Canadian duo COULOIR.

Judging by the established prestige the Azrieli Music Prizes afford, this concert programme promises to deliver a similarly spellbinding experience as phenomenal clarinettist David Krakauer’s performance in 2017.
