Violin virtuoso Pavel Šporcl will celebrate twenty years of his patronage of Znojmo Music Festival with a spectacular symphonic concert. He has invited our orchestra to join him on this occasion, led by chief conductor Andreas Schüller.
The programme of the concert is in the spirit of this year’s main dramaturgical theme of this festival: “Antiquity and Love”. Antiquity will be represented by Ottorino Respighi’s Ancient Dances and the overture to Gluck’s opera Iphigenie in Aulida. The theme of love is embodied by Jan Kubelík’s Concerto No. 1 for violin and orchestra, chosen by the patron of the festival himself. The highlight of the evening will be the famous Violin Concerto in E minor, Op. 64 by Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy—a work that needs no long introduction.
Beautiful romantic melodies will be performed in an unusual industrial space, which will enhance the exceptional atmosphere of this festive evening.
