Dear Listeners,

Many thanks for your patronage over the last quarter of a century. We are about to embark on what will be our twenty-seventh season together and would like to start off by sharing some news with you.

After twelve unforgettable years together, Libor Pešek will be leaving us to take a well-deserved break. Picking up the baton where he left off will be American conductor Steven Mercurio a former pupil of the legendary Leonard Bernstein. The orchestra has been so impressed by Mercurio’s versatility and musicality during this time that they have decided to appoint him as principal conductor.

We are and remain eternally grateful to Libor Pešek for all the wonderful concerts and recordings, and the unforgettable atmosphere throughout his time with the orchestra. We wish you all the best and many more years of good health.

The CNSO can look forward to embarking on an international tour in 2019 and 2020, including performances in Great Britain, Japan and Scandinavia, plus of course our very own Prague Proms.

We will of course also be continuing with our subscription concerts, with a total of five to look forward to plus a number of exceptional concerts to keep you entertained.

See you soon
